Entering it’s fourth year, momentum is building for The Pavoh Music Awards, a unique award created to highlight the accomplishments of talented youth bands and singer-songwriters from all over New England. Formerly known as the New England RADAR Awards, the Pavoh Music Awards is designed to highlight young artists making original music of uncommon quality with significant promise. Unlike any other award program, this is a great opportunity for youth to get their music heard and be recognized – they are not competing with adults! Submissions in all genres are now being accepted through October 31, 2016 via Pavoh.org. Entrants must be under 21 as of October 31, 2016 and must be residents of New England.
Past winners include: The Meadows Brothers, 21CF, The Cranks, Lizzy Marella (Elytta), James MacPherson, The Brazen Youth, Playing with Fire, Angelina Botticelli.
“The (Pavoh Music) Awards was an amazing experience for me. I had never been in a competition for my music before and to receive such great feedback from judges that I respected and admired gave me much more confidence as a performer and songwriter,” Lizzy Marella said. “I also credit my win with being able to preform at more venues around the New England area.”
After completing the form and submitting their music files, entrants will be reviewed by professionals in the award selection committee and considered for inclusion in the 2017 Pavoh Music Award program. Finalists are announced in December 2016, and all finalists appear at the Pavoh Music Award Show on February 25, 2017 at the Hard Rock Cafe Boston – hosted by rock legend, Charlie Farren! Pavoh award winners often perform for Pavoh community partner organizations and play at a number of select gigs throughout the year. Some are paid and some are not. Most are unique opportunities offered only to Pavoh Music Award winners. Past winners have appeared at Outside The Box Festival, Make Music Boston, LymeStock, Hard Rock Cafe, House of Blues, Not Your Average Joe’s among others.
